Multi Disciplinary Team (MDT) Approach in Child Protection

This course equips Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) personnel, investigators and other child protection professionals with knowledge and skills to effectively implement the Multi-Disciplinary Team Approach in handling cases involving children. It emphasizes coordinated case management among law enforcers, social workers, prosecutors, healthcare providers, educators, and other partner agencies to ensure a child-centered, trauma informed, and rights-based response.
Participants will learn the roles and responsibilities of MDT members, inter-agency coordination mechanisms, information sharing while maintaining confidentiality, child-friendly interviewing, referral systems, case conferencing, and collaborative decision-making. The course also highlights best practices for ensuring the safety, well-being, and recovery of child victims while promoting efficient investigation and prosecution of child abuse, exploitation, and violence cases.
Learning Outcomes:
Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:
