Nephila Web Technology Incorporated (Nephila Web) is an IT consultancy firm committed to provide Information and Communications Technology Solutions through the use of Open Source Technology (OST). The company was established on April 2011 by a group of professionals who are advocates of OST. As Open Source systems increasingly gain reputation in the IT industry as a standard of building enterprise infrastructures, more company decision makers realize its importance and are now embracing the technology. Nephila Web continuously conducts research and development to provide our clients the many benefits of OST as it creates cost-effective, interoperable, reliable, secured and stable systems. Today, Nephila Web is making its name in the educational community with its Technology Advancement Program for Schools which includes the development of School Information System & Learning Management System and its series of CHED accredited Trainings on E- Learning.
Nephila Web, on its fifth year, has joined the Moodle Partnership program, Nephila Web being the first Moodle Partner based in the Philippines is excited to explore new opportunities in the market as it officially use the Moodle trademark and promote Moodle services. Since the company was founded in 2011, e-learning has been one of the major product of specialization of Nephila Web, and now on its 5th year in the industry, the company welcomes Moodle as its official partner. This means a lot not only to the company’s business but also a vital contribution to our country, the Philippines which is one of the fastest growing economies in the Asia Pacific region and the world. Our Advocacy
Nephila Web Technology Inc. advocates Open Source Technology as it presents open source philosophy and further defines the boundary on the usage, modification, and redistribution of open source software. Open Source philosophy means that anyone may copy and redistribute the software, modify and add features into it, and study the software source code. Open Source Software is opposite to proprietary software which locks its code to the public; it requires license for its usage while Open Source Software has a General Public License (GPL). Open Source Software is supported by the Open Source community all around the world. The support of the end-users and software developers who are willing to contribute and share their ideas, knowledge and skills is the reason why it developed rapidly. We strongly believe that Open Source is the driver of innovation and the key to achieving greater access to good technology.
