Course Description:

This 16-hour Moodle training course is designed to equip educators, course creators, and instructional designers with the essential skills to effectively use the Moodle platform in course management. Participants will explore Moodle’s core features throughout six modules, including course creation, activity setup, assessment tools, and progress tracking. They will also learn how to integrate communication and collaboration tools, apply gamification strategies, and optimize courses for mobile devices.

General Objectives:

At the end of the course, participants should be able to;

  1. Understand and effectively use Moodle as a platform for course management and enhancement.
  2. Recognize the roles and responsibilities of educators within Moodle.
  3. Navigate the Moodle interface with ease and proficiency.
  4. Create, manage, and organize Moodle courses effectively.
  5. Utilize various Moodle activities and assessment tools to support and evaluate student progress.
  6. Track learner progress using completion tracking, access control, and access powerful reports and analytics in Moodle that will provide educators with important data for their decisions.
  7. Implement gamification strategies to increase student engagement and motivation.
  8. Optimize courses for mobile access, ensuring accessibility through the Moodle Mobile App.
  9. Integrate essential plugins to enhance course functionality and learning experience.
  10. Create interactive and engaging learning environments for students using Moodle's features and tools.

  2. Use restrict access settings to control the availability of course content based on conditions.
  3. Organize and manage groups to facilitate collaborative learning.
  4. Implement and explore useful plugins for both learners and educators, such as Attendance Activity, Completion Progress Block, Grade Me Block, and OpenAI integration.
  5. Understand the features and functionality of the Moodle Mobile App and learn how to access the LMS through the app.
  6. Apply tips on designing mobile-friendly courses to improve user experience on mobile devices.

Methodologies

Prior to the Training

To ensure that you are fully prepared for the upcoming workshop, please make sure to gather and organize the necessary materials listed below:

  • Laptop 
  • Course title
  • Course objectives
  • Lesson proper with files (Images, video, PDF, docs &, etc.,)
  • Example of your activity (Short quiz with multiple choice questions of at least 1-5 items and 1 essay question)
  • Or anything you would like to add to your course.

Guidelines:

  • A total of (2) two days of training with an estimated time of 16 hours to complete the course. 
  • The participants are enrolled for 3 months and required to take the lesson, submit the design challenge, answer the assessment, and accomplish other similar activities to acquire the certificate of completion. 
  • Each participant shall be provided a course sandbox that serves as their working space to design their work. 
  • The Participants will receive a calendar invitation before the webinar schedule.
  • After completing this course, you will be able to download your certificate. The skills you acquired from this training will be your ticket if you want to pursue it later on if you choose to undergo training in MEQ (Moodle Educators Qualifications). 

Mode of Delivery:

 A two-day session with discussions and demonstrations guided by Moodle experts. Two options are available;
